Privacy policy
Effective 13 September 2026
LiveTalk is a live voice translator developed by Genamind (Nikita Savin), Đà Lạt, Vietnam. This policy explains which data the app and the website at livetalk.genamind.com process, and why. In short: what two people say to each other is their own affair, and we keep only what the service needs to work.
What is processed
- Your voice, during a conversation. While a conversation is on, the microphone audio is streamed to OpenAI's speech services to be understood and spoken back in the other language. It is streamed for that purpose only and is not recorded by us. OpenAI's handling is governed by its privacy policy; API traffic is not used to train its models.
- Transcripts. What was said and how it was translated is kept on your phone, in the app's history, so you can look a conversation up later. The text of each translated turn (what was heard and what was said back, with the two languages) is also sent to our server and kept for up to 90 days, so we can check how well the translations and the conversations are working. Those records are reviewed without names, e-mails, device or account identifiers; recordings are never kept. When a conversation ends, a clipped transcript is also sent once so the conversation can be given a short name ("a Vietnamese vendor about mango prices").
- An anonymous device identifier. A random identifier is created on first launch to tell your phone's sessions apart from other people's, to apply the free minutes and your subscription, and to count usage. It is not linked to your name, e-mail or phone number.
- Sign in with Apple, if you choose it: Apple gives us a stable identifier and, only if you allow it, your name and e-mail. We use them to keep your subscription across devices and for nothing else.
- Subscription status, through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat, so the app knows what you are entitled to. We never see your payment details.
- Feedback you send from the app, with the text you typed and the app version.
- Server logs — the time of a request and the network address it came from — kept for up to 30 days to keep the service running and to detect abuse.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers, and there is no advertising in the app.
- We do not keep recordings of conversations — only their text, for the quality review above.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who else processes data
OpenAI (speech recognition, translation and voice, United States), Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, payments), RevenueCat (subscription management). Our own server is hosted in Germany. When two phones are connected for a remote conversation, the audio goes between them directly where the networks allow it, and through our relay server otherwise; the relay does not record it.
How long data is kept
History lives on your phone until you delete it or the app. Translation text on the server: up to 90 days. The device identifier and subscription record are kept while you use the app and removed 12 months after the last use. Server logs: 30 days.
Your rights
You can delete the app's history from the phone at any time, and deleting the app removes everything it kept. To have your device identifier and subscription record removed from our server, or to ask anything about this policy, write to support@genamind.com. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you also have the rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
Children
LiveTalk is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
